Zagan: The Fallen Angel Rises Again

Zagan Lucha Libre Voz (La parka negra / La Verdadera Muerte)

In Lucha Libre, legends never die — they transform. And now, out of the shadows, Zagan, The Fallen Angel has returned, reborn through the mastery of La Verdadera Muerte — the man once feared across AAA rings as La Parka Negra. This isn’t just a comeback. It’s a resurrection.

From Hollywood to the Ring: Zagan

The spark for Zagan’s rebirth was lit in 2021 on the set of the film Cassandro. During filming, DJ Voz crossed paths with La Verdadera Muerte, thanks to an introduction from Dios del Inframundo (formerly Drago of AAA and Lucha Underground, now Co-Director of Lucha Voz). Ideas flew, possibilities were teased, and the chemistry was undeniable.

But the timing wasn’t right — not yet.

Fast forward to the winter of 2024. Lucha Voz had just been reborn with new leadership, bold marketing, and storylines that were catching fire across the U.S. indie wrestling scene. Fans were surging in, subscriptions to LuchaVoz.com skyrocketed, and the stage was set. That’s when the conversations reignited — and La Verdadera Muerte was chosen to take up the mantle of Zagan.

Forging the Fallen Angel Zagan

Once the decision was made, DJ Voz and La Verdadera Muerte threw themselves into sculpting Zagan’s new era. The look. The attitude. The evolution. Everything had to feel bigger, darker, and more dangerous.

What emerged was a character that embodies the very heart of Lucha Voz: the perfect collision of tradition, strong style, and storytelling. Zagan isn’t just another rudo — he’s a force of myth, a presence that lingers in the arena long after the final bell.

The Debut That Shook Yuma

Zagan’s rebirth wasn’t quiet. His official debut came at Warzone Yuma (May 2025) in front of a sold-out arena. The reaction was electric. Fans saw something new — something terrifying and captivating at the same time.

Since that night, Zagan has gone toe-to-toe with some of the industry’s best: Beast Mortos (AEW), Dios del Inframundo, Romeo, Rey Horus, and more. Every match has added fuel to the fire.

And for the diehard fans who know their history — yes, this is the second chapter of Zagan. The first version was portrayed in 2017 by Émulo, the respected luchador from Ciudad Juárez and El Paso. Now, with La Verdadera Muerte behind the mask, Zagan has become something far more menacing.

The Demonology of Zagan

What makes Zagan more than just a character is his tie to an ancient legend. In demonology, Zagan is a Great King of Hell, a master of transformation. That lore is woven into his in-ring persona:

  • Great King of Hell / Fallen Angel – In myth, Zagan commands legions. In the ring, he exudes the same dominance: an angel cast from heaven, now feared on earth.

  • Master of Transformations – Just as the demon could turn water into wine and metal into gold, Zagan shifts from brute power to aerial precision, flipping matches in an instant.

  • Wisdom & Folly – Known for making fools wise and the wise foolish, Zagan thrives on mind-games. He breaks confidence, forces mistakes, and rises when opponents crumble.

  • Alchemy of Chaos – Every fight is a ritual. Every match, a transformation. Zagan turns pain into power, destruction into victory.

The Man Behind the Mask

Behind Zagan is a warrior with a story that already commands respect:

  • Ángel Mortal Jr. (2012–2017):Son of the legendary Ángel Mortal, he debuted carrying his father’s name and legacy, making waves in AAA’s Llave a la Gloria tournament.

  • La Parka Negra in AAA (2017–2024):

    • Became the fourth wrestler to portray the dark twin of La Parka.

    • Faced stars like Hijo del Fantasma for the AAA Latin American Championship (2018).

    • Featured at Triplemanía XXX (2022 & 2023) and Héroes Inmortales.

    • Fought against Octagón Jr., Hijo del Vikingo, Aerostar, Chessman, and of course, La Parka himself.

    • After La Parka’s passing, La Verdadera Muerte carried the mask with honor until 2024, when he chose to retire it and step into his own identity.

  • La Verdadera Muerte (2025–Present):

    • Launched his own persona: skeletal, powerful, entirely original.

    • Rivalry with Karis La Momia Jr. (son of La Parka).

    • Faced legends and rudos alike — Monster Clown, Psicosis II, Dark Espíritu, Tinieblas Jr., Pirata Morgan, and even members of the L.A. Park family.

    • Expanded to the U.S. independent circuit, where his name is spreading rapidly.

The Future of Zagan

With La Verdadera Muerte breathing life into Zagan, this Fallen Angel is more than a character — he’s an event. He represents the rebirth of storytelling in wrestling, where every entrance is a chapter, and every match is mythology in motion.

As Zagan grows within Lucha Voz, the only question left is: how far can this darkness spread?
